Forking tasks is the process of separating the senses, or variations, in the meaning of a task.
This process should be used sparingly, and the ability to fork a term is the sole provenance of the curator.

A task in which participants are presented with sequentially presented digits and are then asked to recall the items. The number of digits that can be correctly recalled provides an estimate of working memory capacity.
